Rocket in My Pocket

Defying Gravity with Levity, from the Frontiers of Space to the Frontiers of Consciousness

Memoir/Humor

People like to say, “It’s not rocket science.” But Fallingstar’s father designed space rockets and satellites, so in her childhood it was all rocket science.  Fallingstar’s rollicking trajectory from a Republican cold war upbringing to Witch Priestess is a unique, yet utterly relatable portrait of a culture growing from denial to awareness. This vignette style memoir, at turns poignant and laugh-out-loud funny, will be a treat for anyone looking for a lighter look at history from the space race to the present.  If David Sedaris and J.K. Rowling had a literary love child, this would be that book.

Cerridwen, always an entertaining and knowledgeable guest, very much enjoyed participating in your podcast while she was promoting her last book, Broth from the Cauldron.  Here is a  complimentary link to read the book online as a PDF on my website. Or, if you prefer. I am happy to send a physical copy of Broth from the Cauldron, along with a bio and sample questions if desired. Reviews

“Delightful and honestly told memoir, charting the country’s arc from the Cuban Missile Crisis to the Sexual Revolution and the birth of the neo-pa-gan movement. Told by a witch with a rocket-scientist dad, this book shows there’s more than one way to try to save the world.”

—Cindy Tobisman, Proof and Doubt, winner of the 2018 Harper Lee Prize for Legal Fiction

“Like Cerridwen’s previous book, Broth from the Cauldron, Rocket in my Pock-et is another thoroughly delightful compendium of additional anecdotes and tales from her amazing and outrageous life—from the tragic to the hilarious.”

—Oberon Zell, Primate, Church of All Worlds, Founder, Grey School of Wizardry

“Cerridwen Fallingstar is a brilliant writer. The power of the Goddess shines through all that she does.”

—Merlin Stone, When God was a Woman and Ancient Mirrors of Womanhood

“In her beautifully written memoir, Cerridwen weaves two intertwining threads: one of science and the aerospace world of her father in the time of the Cold War with the other her mysticism and expanding spiritual and sexual explorations during the 60’s and beyond. Each chapter is a captivating vignette, painted with humor, the bright colors of experience, and the wisdom of a priestess.”

—Heather Ash Amara, Warrior Goddess Training and The Warrior Heart Practice
