About the Founder and Producer of The Culture Buzz
John Busbee has been involved in arts & cultural efforts to enhance individuals, groups, communities and Iowa through creative economy and cultural economic growth initiatives. He continues a diversified career: from his early days as manager and performer for a national touring theatre company for six years, including a 5-week USO Tour; development work in for-profit and non-profit sectors; location manager and field producer for feature films, TV series and national commercials; strategic development and consultation work for individuals, organizations and communities; and, producing a weekly arts & culture radio program since 2007, The Culture Buzz, which now is broadcast regionally in Central Iowa and streams globally. Writing credits include Iowa History Journal, Art Scene Magazine, dsm Magazine, ia Magazine, Civil War News, and Voices from the Prairie (Humanities Iowa). John also is a produced playwright.
A strength Busbee brings to projects in which he engages is the ability to assess the cultural elements of a situation. This allows the stakeholders to position themselves to develop best strategies to achieve greater success.
